On Monday, July 21, crews will begin milling and paving several roads in Paducah. The following roads will be milled and then paved:
- Industrial Drive.
- Charter Oak Drive.
- Jefferson Street from 16th Street to 28th Street.
The project to mill and pave these roadways is expected to last approximately two weeks. The contractor, Jim Smith Contracting, will begin working on Industrial Drive and Charter Oak Drive at the beginning of the week with crews commencing the work on Jefferson Street by the end of the week, weather-permitting. Residents who live along this stretch of Jefferson Street are requested not to utilize on-street parking while milling and paving operations are underway.
Please use caution, watch for the work crews, and respect the traffic control devices. Crews will work to maintain access to residents and businesses and provide one lane of traffic flow; however, there may be brief times when traffic may need to detour due to an intermittent closure. Flaggers will be present.
The City of Paducah maintains more than 220 miles of streets.
